Yunus Egemenoğlu, founding partner of Egemenoğlu Law Firm, graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1982. Over a legal career spanning more than 40 years, he has developed deep expertise in banking and finance, financial restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, insolvency law, and commercial law. His particular specialization in financial restructuring and insolvency law has established him as one of the leading figures in this field. He has been recognized by Legal 500 as a “Hall of Fame” practitioner in the “Restructuring and Insolvency” category in Turkey. An active contributor to academic and industry dialogue, Egemenoğlu has participated as a speaker at numerous seminars and conferences on topics including suretyship for commercial debts, assignment of mortgaged receivables, suspension of bankruptcy, conditions for acquittal, pursuit of doubtful receivables, concordat as a mechanism for overcoming economic crises, and discipline and arbitration in Turkish football. He has also undertaken significant roles in sports law and governance, serving as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Football Federation and as Secretary General of the Clubs Association, where he carried out impactful work in both legal and managerial capacities within the sports sector. Egemenoğlu further distinguishes himself through his contributions to legal education and academic initiatives. He served as a Member of the Advisory Board of Istanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Law, supporting the advancement of legal education. He is also a member of FOYDER (Finansal ve Operasyonel Yapılandırma Profesyonelleri Derneği), reflecting his continued engagement with the restructuring and insolvency community.
